The active ingredient is mucozoline hydrochloride, 1 mg per ml of solution. each spray volume (140mcl) contains 140 micrograms of mucozoline hydrochloride.
Other ingredients are: sodium hyaluronate, sorbitol (E420), glycerol (E422), sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium chloride and water for injection.
ACTIFED DECONGESTANT contains Cyclozoline, a substance that helps to constrict the blood vessels in the nose, reduce edema of the nasal mucosa (the lining of the nose), and promote breathing. The spray also contains hyaluronic acid (in the form of sodium hyaluronate), which protects and hydrates the nasal mucosa.
The spray is used as a short-term treatment for nasal congestion and runny nose due to colds or sinusitis.
Adults and children over 12 years of age
Unless otherwise directed by a physician or pharmacist, it is recommended to dispense into each nostril up to 3 times a day for up to 7 days.
Remove the protective cap. Before use, activate the spray by pressing several times until an even spray is dispensed.
Keep upright. Insert the nozzle into the nostril without spraying through the nose.
Press once and breathe through the nose as it evaporates, repeat in the other nostril.
After use, place the cap back on the bottle.
To reduce the risk of infection, do not allow more than one person to use the bottle and clean the nozzle after each use.
Do not use this spray on children under 12 years of age.
Do not use ACTIFED DECONGESTANT in the following cases.
Hypersensitivity to mucozoline hydrochloride or any other ingredients in this drug;
High intraocular pressure, especially in the presence of narrow-angle glaucoma.
chronic rhinitis (chronic nasal irritation) with little or no secretion (dry rhinitis).
You have received treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) within the last 2 weeks or are taking MAO inhibitors.
You are on treatment with other drugs that can raise blood pressure;
you have inflammation caused by allergy to the blood vessels in your nose
Thinning of the nasal membranes with or without secretions with inflammation.
You have recently undergone surgery on the brain through the nose or mouth.
This spray should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
